GREAT BICENTENNIAL!

Massena Bicentennial Committee joined by
Miss Massena Bicentennial Amber Singleton and the town crier for one
last photo after Sunday's closing ceremonies. They can be proud of
one of the greatest events in Massena history.
MASSENA FAMILY DAY
A GREAT SUCCESS!

The Massena Family Festival
offered plenty of rides, craft fair and fun, following Saturday's giant
parade....

... including plenty of youth dance and singing routines complete with
patriotic music and costumes.
MASSENA BALLOONFEST

Bicentennial Balloonfest
attracts dozens of riders and thousands of spectators on the ground
around Massena.
The evening was capped with "Moon Glow," with three of the
balloons simultaneously lit in the dark.

MASSENA MEMORIAL
CELEBRATES 50 YEARS

Massena Hospital celebrated its golden anniversary,
including burial of a time capsule to be opened in 2052.

St. Lawrence Seaway's Eisenhower Lock was lined
with
flags from 50 U.S. states and 10 Canadian provinces on Seaway Day,
Friday, July 12th. The Arion, a 443-foot Dutch vessel transited
the lock, while the public was given tours.

NYPA SPONSORS BIG
CONCERT & FIREWORKS

New York Power Authority sponsored a patriotic concert by Orchestra of
Northern New York, the first concert in the new bandshell at Springs
Park. Nearly 2,000 people attended.
A great fireworks display followed from Bushnell Field.
